Guild Wars 3 Fall 2027 Beta
Newsletter signup on guildwars3.com. Public wave dates are not out yet.
ArenaNet scheduled the first Guild Wars 3 beta for Fall 2027. That is a season, not a day. There is still no full launch date. If someone sells you a week-one patch calendar, they are guessing. The useful work is to get on the official list, know which platforms can be invited, and treat a first beta as a test of servers and systems rather than a preview of the finished Orr.
This page is the signup and expectations guide. For the game’s feel, read How to Play and momentum combat. For storefronts, read Platforms. Dates that actually publish will be mirrored on the beta tracker and the roadmap.
How to sign up (and what that signup is not)
Go to the official Guild Wars 3 site and join the newsletter. Summer Game Fest posts told players to subscribe for a chance to join the beta in 2027. Steam’s announcement news used the same language: watch the trailer, wishlist, and subscribe. That is the path this wiki will keep pointing at until ArenaNet publishes a different form.
Wishlist both storefronts anyway. PC players should wishlist Steam app 4743930. PlayStation players should follow the PlayStation Store concept page. ArenaNet also sells the game through its own client at launch; official copy says PlayStation 5, Steam, and the standalone client join together from day one. Whether every beta wave includes all three is unconfirmed. Treat the newsletter as the invite list and the wishlists as the alert system. The wishlist checklist walks through both stores.
What signup is not: a numbered queue, a guaranteed key, or a public schedule of waves. No NDA text is posted. No region list is posted. No statement says every email gets in. If a third-party site asks you to link an account for “priority beta,” ignore it. Official channels remain guildwars3.com, Discord, @PlayGuildWars3, and r/guildwars3. More links sit on the wiki links page.
What a first MMORPG beta usually means
A first beta is a production test. Expect incomplete maps, placeholder UI, missing professions, and systems that will change. The Gamescom 2026 slice was already labeled early alpha: missing textures, bugs, and a HUD built for the showing. Colin Johanson said progression, build-making, and spirits would be explained closer to Fall 2027. That means the beta’s job is to put momentum combat, matchmaking, and login flow under real player count, not to deliver Arah as a tourist destination.
Historically, Guild Wars 2’s first closed tests sat less than a year before launch. That is a comparison, not a promise. ArenaNet has not said Guild Wars 3 will ship on the same gap. Do not back-solve a 2028 launch from a 2027 beta. The roadmap stays TBA on purpose.
What you should expect to evaluate if you get in: does wall-run into glide into slam feel as good with latency as it did in a capture? Does stamina make vertical combat honest or annoying? Do Warrior, Necromancer, and Ranger cover the roles previewed on roles? Can about 20 players share a fight without the action camera turning into noise? Cities are allowed to show more people than combat shards; if a beta city feels crowded, that may be intended.
What you should not expect: World vs. World, Guild Wars 2-style meta-events, Heroes, Henchmen, a complete class roster, or a finished collector’s edition store. PvP is confirmed for the game; whether it appears in the first beta is unpublished. Buy-to-play, no subscription, no premium battle pass, and no pay-to-win are design rules for the product, not beta shop SKUs.
Platforms, hardware, and cross-play during tests
Confirmed platforms for the product are PC (Steam plus ArenaNet’s client) and PlayStation 5. No Xbox version is announced. Unreal Engine 5. Controller and mouse and keyboard. DualSense on PC Steam is USB only. Steam minimum specs: Windows 10 64-bit, i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060 / RX 5700 / Arc A580, 65 GB. If your machine is under that line, plan on PlayStation 5 or an upgrade before Fall 2027. Full table: system requirements. Storefront and pad details: Platforms.
Cross-play language from ArenaNet is about launch: PlayStation 5, Steam, and standalone client players join together from the beginning. That is the largest day-one platform mix in franchise history. It does not automatically describe every beta wave. If a wave is PC-only or console-only, that would be a test constraint, not a broken promise. This page will not invent wave composition. Watch the beta tracker.
Check your PC against the Steam minimum now, not the week invites land. 16 GB RAM and a 2060-class GPU are the floor ArenaNet published, not a recommended preset. Unreal Engine 5 titles often want more headroom once settings leave “minimum.” If you play on a television with a DualSense, remember the USB-only Steam note so you are not debugging Bluetooth the night a wave opens.
How this wiki will track waves
Until ArenaNet posts dates, the beta tracker will show Fall 2027 and empty wave rows. That is correct. We will not fill them with leaks. When a wave is named, this page will link the tracker, the Updates Hub, and any NDA rules the studio publishes. Getting Started stays the prep checklist; this page stays the access page.
If you already play Guild Wars 2, Hall of Monuments 2.0 is a Guild Wars 2-side project that will later connect accounts to Guild Wars 3. It is not a beta key. Playing Guild Wars 2 will not skip the newsletter. All three games stay in development; you do not have to drop Guild Wars 2 to be “ready” for a 2027 test. vs Guild Wars 2 explains the split.
If you get an invite, go in as a Vaelwarden on ancient Orr, pick one of the three confirmed professions, and write down whether momentum still makes sense after twenty minutes. Then come back to the Guides Hub and tell us, in your own notes, which of these pages aged poorly. That is the only honest use of a first beta.
