Guild Wars 3 World Hub

Ancient Orr, Vaelwardens, Seekers, and the species we can actually name.

World Hub

Guild Wars 3 is not a tour of the Orr you walked in Guild Wars 2. ArenaNet set the new MMORPG more than a thousand years before Guild Wars 1, before the Exodus of the Gods, in a living frontier still named Orr. Magic is thick enough to grow an ecosystem of spirits called the Vael. Official August 2026 blogs name four launch species: humans, asura, kodan — playable for the first time — and a fourth people still unnamed. This hub is the map of those facts. The game is upcoming. The first beta is Fall 2027. Nothing here is a travelogue from a live server.

Start with ancient Orr if you want the land, the city of Arah, the ruined temples of Dhuum, and how a seamless world is supposed to feel. Start with Vaelwardens if you want the guild you are actually joining. Start with Seekers if you want the mount that is also a spirit. Start with humans, asura, or kodan if you already know which people you want. Start with the species overview if you want the four-at-launch rule, the no-stats stance, and the unnamed fourth.

Land, city, and a smaller fight size

Orr in this era is a wilderness with pockets of civilization, not a zone chain of loading screens. ArenaNet has talked about a seamless world with fewer loads, camps as safe areas, and Arah as the only major city. That last point is easy to skip and should not be. If you are expecting five racial capitals in the Guild Wars 2 shape, you are expecting a different game. Players operate under one banner across the wilds. Cities can display many more people than a fight. Large combat is being described around twenty players. That is a design number, not a raid tier. It tells you the world is built for readable brawls on cliffs, not for five hundred people standing on a boss hitbox.

The timeline is the other hard fact. Grenth has only recently displaced Dhuum. Temples of the old death god stand in ruins, still dangerous, still hosting the occasional loyalist who wants Dhuum back. You are not walking a post-dragon wasteland. You are walking a golden age that is already fraying. Rival guilds contest influence across the peninsula. The Order of the Vael is on the back foot. That is why the Vaelwardens page is not a generic faction blurb. It is the player fantasy: last of an order the world has started to write off, still sworn to protect the land, the people beyond city walls, and the spirits that live in it.

Movement is how you read the map. Wall-running, gliding, and the Seeker — a Vael spirit that is your mount and your connection to Orr’s magic — are not cosmetics on top of a quest log. They are how a seamless frontier stays fun instead of turning into a chore. Profession pages under the Classes Hub describe how Warrior, Necromancer, and Ranger spend that same verticality in a fight. This hub describes why the land has that verticality in the first place.

How to read the child pages

Ancient Orr is the setting essay: pre-Exodus timeline, Arah, camps, Dhuum ruins, seamless rules, and the twenty-player combat note. It also carries the official setting video. Vaelwardens is the guild essay: what you protect, who is pushing you, why the Order of the Vael is losing ground, and why you are not a chosen one. Seekers is the spirit-and-mount essay: Vael as an ecosystem, Seeker as the personal bond, travel as a relationship. The species overview is the roster essay: four at launch, no power stats, future species possible, fourth still unnamed. Humans, asura, and kodan are the named lore pages. The species approach post carries the official video.

Use the guides hub when you want systems — getting started, how to play, combat, platforms, beta. Use updates when you want the announcement, Gamescom 2026, the roadmap, and the philosophy posts. This World Hub should not duplicate those. It should answer where you are, who you serve, what you ride, and which peoples are actually on the table.

If a later blog names the fourth species, expands Arah, or changes the combat population number, the child page that owns that fact should change first. Do not let this index drift into a second copy of ancient Orr. Keep it as a switchboard. Wishlist the game on Steam via the wishlist page, watch the beta tracker for Fall 2027, and come back here when a showcase adds a place, a guild, or a people — not when someone on a forum invents a fifth capital and a finished race list.
