Guild Wars 3 Classes Hub

Confirmed professions and role identities — not a live ranking.

Classes Hub

This is not a live Guild Wars 3 tier list, and it cannot be one. ArenaNet announced the MMORPG at Summer Game Fest 2026. The first beta is scheduled for Fall 2027 on PC and PlayStation 5. The game is upcoming, buy-to-play, with no subscription, no battle pass, and no pay-to-win shop dressed up as a class. Until players can actually queue, any S-through-F ranking would be fan fiction with extra steps.

What this hub is: a profession identity primer. Gamescom 2026 confirmed three professions — Warrior, Necromancer, and Ranger — and showed how each one treats momentum as a different verb. Read those pages for kit details from the demo and Q&A. Read Combat Roles if you care more about tank, damage, support, and threat than about a single class fantasy.

Why rankings wait

A ranking needs a sample size, a patch, and a ruleset. Guild Wars 3 has none of those in public. Builds and loadouts, including the Elite skill, are prepared in advance in a Guild Wars 1 style. Contextual skills appear in windows — an aerial bomb only exists while you are in the air — so a best-button copied from a spreadsheet will miss the point. Threat and aggro are returning. Roles sit closer to a trinity than they did in Guild Wars 2, but they stay flexible: not every Warrior is a tank, professions play roles differently, and ArenaNet has been explicit that not every profession will do everything.

Until the Fall 2027 beta exists, the useful comparison is identity, not damage meters. Warrior in the demo is a grounded slam class: sword and shield, fall-velocity bombs, kicks that throw foes off cliffs, and a shield that blocks and becomes a springboard for allies. Necromancer is a scythe fighter with a momentum slash that travels farther and steals life, Necrotic Traversal for movement, and at least the idea of minion tanking. Ranger was talked through more than shown: airborne suspended attacks, slow-fall bow volleys, and an ice vortex allies can ride. Those three sentences are the whole confirmed roster. Do not treat Mesmer, Elementalist, Guardian, or any other franchise favorite as locked for launch.

If you want systems context rather than class pages, start with how combat works, the getting started overview, and the Gamescom 2026 notes. Buy and platform questions live on platforms and the wishlist page. World context — why these kits are fighting in Orr at all — lives under the World Hub.

How to use these pages

Use the child pages as a map, not a verdict. Warrior is the best-documented kit because the Gamescom demo put a sword-and-shield fighter on screen for most of the session. Necromancer arrives in the second half of that same footage and in the Q&A. Ranger is a design interview more than a gameplay reel, which is why that page spends time on airborne identity instead of a fake skill bar. Combat Roles is the cross-cut: threat, trinity, multiplayer combos, and why a party is not four copies of the same profession with different hats.

This hub will stay a primer until there is a public test with numbers. When the first beta lands in Fall 2027, the right move is to replace identity notes with observed strengths — not to pretend we already knew the meta. If you are planning a main, pick the movement verb you want (bomb down, slash through, stay aloft) and follow the world pages so your class fantasy actually matches ancient Orr.

When later showcases add a fourth profession, this hub should gain a child page, not a secret extra rank. Until ArenaNet names that profession in public, it is not confirmed here. Bookmark the roadmap and the beta tracker if you want a single place to watch for the next kit, and keep this Classes Hub as the index rather than a scoreboard.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for Guild Wars 3 players waiting on the Fall 2027 beta.

Is this a live Guild Wars 3 tier list?

No. The game is unreleased. The first beta is Fall 2027. These pages compare confirmed profession identities from Gamescom 2026, not ranked damage.

Which professions are confirmed?

Warrior, Necromancer, and Ranger. See Warrior, Necromancer, and Ranger. Do not treat older franchise classes as locked.

Should I pick a class before the beta?

Pick a movement identity, not a rank. Slam-down play is the Warrior. Scythe momentum and traversal sit with the Necromancer. Airborne bows sit with the Ranger.

Where do roles and threat fit?

Roles sit closer to a trinity than in Guild Wars 2, with threat returning and flexible loadouts. The breakdown is on Combat Roles, with combat systems on how to play combat.

Will more professions be added to this hub?

Yes, when ArenaNet confirms them in public. Until then this hub stays at three kits plus roles. Watch Gamescom 2026 notes and the roadmap.
