Guild Wars 3 is ArenaNet’s upcoming MMORPG, revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026. It is not out. There is no full launch date. The first beta is scheduled for Fall 2027 on PC and PlayStation 5. This hub is the reading order for everything we can confirm before anyone logs into Orr.

If you are new, start with Getting Started. If you already wishlisted the game and want the Gamescom feel, jump to How to Play and the momentum combat deep dive. Veterans of Guild Wars 2 should read vs Guild Wars 2 before assuming systems will carry over.

Getting started, beta, and platforms

Preparation is the useful work right now. Getting Started covers the wishlist, the official newsletter, and a clean split between confirmed facts and open questions. Fall 2027 Beta explains how to sign up on the official Guild Wars 3 site, why wave dates are not public, and how a first beta usually differs from a launch. Track dates on the beta tracker as ArenaNet publishes them.

Platform choice is simpler than it looks. Guild Wars 3 is planned for PC through Steam (app 4743930) and ArenaNet’s own client, plus PlayStation 5. Official posts say players on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the standalone client join together from day one. Platforms covers DualSense (USB only on PC Steam), mouse and keyboard, and the published Steam minimum specs. Compare your PC against the system requirements and use the wishlist checklist so you do not miss storefront alerts.

Combat, classes, and the Guild Wars 2 comparison

The Gamescom 2026 demo is the only public gameplay slice so far. Combat is action RPG movement married to Guild Wars build-making. Momentum transfers between wall-run, glide, sprint, and mantle. Confirmed professions are Warrior, Necromancer, and Ranger only. Roles sit closer to a trinity than Guild Wars 2, with threat-based tanking and a Necromancer minion tank as a stated possibility. Large combat is about 20 players; cities can show more. There are no Guild Wars 2-style meta-events, no World vs. World, and no Heroes or Henchmen.

Lore, news, and tools while the game is still in development

You play as a member of the Vaelwardens. Your Seeker is a Vael spirit mount. ArenaNet’s August 2026 species blogs confirm four launch species: humans, asura, kodan (playable for the first time), and a fourth people still unnamed. The playable species overview and the species approach post collect those facts. Arah is the only major city named so far.
