Guild Wars 3 System Requirements
Steam minimums as of the 2026 listing, PlayStation 5 DualSense notes, and the blanks ArenaNet has not filled.
Steam published a minimum PC spec the same day Guild Wars 3 was announced. That table is the only official hardware list. There is no recommended spec, no ultra spec, and no Steam Deck verification. PlayStation 5 is a launch platform with DualSense; Sony has not posted a separate “can it run” sheet because the hardware is fixed. This page copies the public numbers, explains what they do and do not mean, and stops before fan-made FPS charts.
Treat every row as a 2026 snapshot. Engines change. 65 GB can grow. A card that is minimum today might be below the line at Fall 2027 beta. Check Steam app 4743930 again when you download a client. For the click path to that page, use the wishlist checklist.
Steam minimums
Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit. A 64-bit OS is required. Windows 11 is not listed as a minimum, which usually means Windows 10 still qualifies. Linux and macOS are not listed. Steam Deck compatibility is marked unknown.
Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600. Those are 2018 six-core chips. They are a floor for the store listing, not a comfort guarantee in dense twenty-player fights. If your CPU is older than this pair, do not expect the beta to be a pleasant surprise.
Memory: 16 GB RAM. Eight-gigabyte machines are below the line. Close the browser farm before you blame the game.
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 5700, or Intel Arc A580. That is a late-2010s / entry-Arc trio. VRAM amounts are not broken out in the Steam blurb. Laptop variants with those names can be weaker than desktop cards; Steam will not sort that for you.
Storage: 65 GB available space. SSD versus HDD is not specified. For an MMO with streaming open world, an SSD is the sane choice even when the store is silent. Budget more than 65 GB if you keep multiple Guild Wars clients installed.
Input listed on aggregator copies of the Steam page includes keyboard and mouse. Steam also flags partial controller support. That phrase is important: some of the game talks to a pad, not necessarily every menu, cursor, or radial. Gamescom’s hands-off alpha was driven on a controller, which is encouraging and still not a certification.
There is no recommended specification. Sites that show a second column with a GTX 1060 or an unnamed “Intel Core i5” are not quoting ArenaNet. Ignore them. When a recommended line appears on Steam, this page will add it and date the change.
PlayStation 5 and DualSense
Guild Wars 3 is a PS5 launch platform title in the sense that console is in the day-one set, not in the sense that the game is out. You need a PlayStation 5, a PSN account, and the DualSense controller the storefront is built around. Storage budget on console has not been posted separately; assume it will be in the same neighborhood as the 65 GB PC figure until Sony lists an exact size.
On PC, DualSense is called out as USB only. Bluetooth DualSense on PC is not part of the current note. If you plan to play the PC client with a PlayStation pad, budget a cable. Partial controller support on Steam still applies. Keyboard and mouse remain the safe PC assumption until a beta overlay proves otherwise.
Cross-play, 120 Hz modes, 3D audio features, and activity cards are unlisted. Do not buy a monitor or a Pulse headset “because Guild Wars 3 requires it.” The published list does not require them.
How to use these numbers before beta
If you already beat the minimums, stop refreshing comparison videos. Spend the wait on Getting Started, how to play, and the classes hub. If you are under the line, you have until Fall 2027 to plan an upgrade. Prioritize RAM to 16 GB and a GPU in the 2060 / 5700 / A580 class before you chase a 2026 flagship for a game that has not shipped.
Laptop players should look at sustained power, not sticker names. An RTX 2060 Mobile is not automatically the desktop 2060 in the Steam sentence. Console players can skip the GPU anxiety and confirm the PS5 is the model they will still own in 2027.
When the beta client lands, log actual resolution, preset, and frame rate yourself. Fan benchmarks from other games do not map cleanly onto momentum traversal and twenty-player fights in Orr. Until that client exists, the honest requirements page is a short table, a DualSense footnote, 65 GB, and a large white space where a recommended spec would go.
